Lisa A. Cervantes, Esq., LL.M.




Lisa brings Spotora & Associates more than 20 years of legal experience and a recognized devotion to entertainment endeavors, and deals, on a worldwide basis. She specializes in music, television and film. On an international scale, Ms. Cervantes has represented recording artists, independent record and film financing companies, actors, entertainment venues, television shows, producers, photographers, managers, models, modeling agencies, talent scouts, booking agents, publishers, promoters, magazines, nightclubs. . . the list goes on.

Registered and certified in practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) and WIPO (Madrid System), Lisa works with entities of all sizes to protect, license, assert and defend rights in intellectual property, including trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. Throughout her career, she has also resolved various trademark and copyright disputes and has negotiated hundreds of licenses and entertainment and related agreements. Lisa is licensed to practice in all California courts as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California.

Lisa is a member of the California State Bar and is a frequent panelist and volunteer for various lectures on copyright, trademark and entertainment law. She has given presentations at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Cal Western School of Law, University of San Diego School of Law, National University in Los Angeles and University of Turin, Italy. 

Lisa is an adjunct Professor of Law and Supervising Attorney in the Trademark Clinic at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. The Clinic, through its Certified Law Students, provides pro-bono legal services to individuals, organizations, and small businesses involved with the arts.

Lisa studied law in the United States, France and Italy, and received her J.D. from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law where she also received awards for her superior legal writing. She obtained her Masters in International Intellectual Property (LL.M.) from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Geneva & University of Turin, Italy.

  Lisa has served as an Associate Attorney to Spotora & Associates since 2006.
